Job Opportunity: Religious Education Administrator

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Religious Education Administrator.  This year-round position will be responsible for coordinating UUCR's religious education program for children for an interim period, as we plan and implement a search for a permanent religious education professional. This temporary position will be for a minimum period of six months, thereafter to be determined.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to communicate with a variety of people, and enthusiasm for RE work;
  2. Excellent organizational and management skills;
  3. Knowledge of Unitarian Universalism and acceptance of our seven Principles, and a willingness to abide by the Liberal Religious Educator's professional Code of Ethics;   (see http://www25.uua.org/lreda/content/code.html)
  4. Some experience in the education field preferred.

 

This year-round position is considered a professional position. Therefore, although approximately 25/hrs/week are allocated, the hired candidate will be responsible for allocating  work hours across the year, with an emphasis on appropriately managing the programs. The starting salary will be $19,000/yr  for this part-time position.
